About us

Avencia Consulting are working with a Bespoke, Specialty and Reinsurance firm in the City, who are looking to hire a Binding Operations Analyst to join on a fixed term contract.

The Company currently writes lines of business including; speciality insurance: aviation & aerospace, energy, marine, property, credit & political risk, and other speciality; reinsurance: property reinsurance, property retrocession, speciality reinsurance, whole account/multi-class.

The role

This role is an essential part of the Technical Operations Team, and the purpose of the role is to complete the risk capture and endorsement processing ensuring the capture of accurate and appropriate data, which is recorded in a timely manner.

Key accountabilities

Binding

Ensure, maintain and be responsible for the entry and accuracy of data within the underwriting system of record from the underwriting slips for inwards business.
Liaise and forge strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
Support the team initiative of improving the Binding Operational function by reviewing existing processes and creating efficiencies.Endorsement Processing

Ensure, maintain and be responsible for the entry and accuracy of data within the underwriting system of record from the endorsements for inwards business.Earnings

Liaise with the Actuarial team to ensure that all custom earning patterns are updated in the system of record by each month close.Data Quality

Gain an understanding of each Line of Business and their processes by attending learning sessions and communicating with the underwriters and underwriting assistants.
All identified data quality errors must be corrected by the following day that they are discovered.
Data quality target to be 90% and above.Performance Monitoring & Reporting

Ensure full understanding of month end procedures that all deadlines are completed in a timely manner, and that all binding, endorsements and queries with the underwriters are completed and resolved before month close.
Involvement in key meetings including month end Binding meetings.
Take ownership of relevant responsibilities ensuring that all the SLA's are met on time with no exceptions.
Fully support both internal and external audits ensuring all action points arising from the audit are completed within the given deadlines.Skills & experience

Minimum Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Demonstrated Operations Experience.
A practical understanding of Underwriting systems.
Basic competency in MS Office applications: Word and Adobe Standard required.
Advanced Outlook and Excel skills.
Demonstrated ability to master new concepts quickly and take initiative with own personal development.
Ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders both internal and externally across the Company.
Must be able to self-lead and work effectively both independently and with teams.
Demonstrated ability to deliver and manage accurate thoughtful detail-oriented work within tight deadlines
