We are delighted to be representing a dynamic, leading UK firm of accountants and business advisers who have been helping their clients thrive for almost 100 years. With over 70 partners and more than 600 staff based in and around London, this opportunity will be based in their Surrey office.

This role will see you looking after a wide range of clients, many of whom are specialists in the Financial Services, Real Estate and Non Profit sectors.

As Audit Practice Manager your responsibilities will include:

Managing a client portfolio that will start on £500K and will grow with time.

Being key contact for those clients, delivering on multiple assignments to agreed deadlines alongside the Partners.

Demonstrating the highest technical standards, but also communicating those ideas to clients in a clear, concise, and actionable way

Managing projects fully, from initial concept through to delivery and to budget.

Leading the entire audit process, including audit planning, client liaison, oversight, review and completion.

Ensuring compliance deadlines are met (Companies House and HMRC), and the job is finalised to minimise partner review time.

Acting as the lead contact to clients about their business and getting specialist teams from across the firm, when relevant, to advise and deliver ad hoc projects for our clients. This may include HR, Corporate Tax, Payroll, Legal and Restructuring work.

Working closely with overseas entities to establish compliance needs in the UK.

Controlling the work in progress process by agreeing fees, raising bills and collecting debts.

Training and developing a team of up to 15 junior team members and providing oversight of their output.

To succeed in the role of Audit Practice Manager

You should have a relevant Accounting Qualification such as ACA or ACCA or international equivalent.

You should be a senior manager who has experience of mentoring and developing junior members of the team.

You should be commercially aware and able to apply and communicate technical knowledge in a clear way.

You should have strong commitment to client care and service beyond expectation.

You should have commitment to CPD and ensuring technical competence is continually improved.
