Job Description
Assistant Accountant
Thetford
My client is a well-established manufacturer of injection moulding products used in Safety industry and is well respected in the PPE marketplace, and a UK Manufacturer.
They are looking for an Assistant Accountant, who will be responsible for the financial accounting aspects of accounts payable, payroll submission to third parties, VAT for foreign entities, bank reconciliations:
* Collection of cash from customer invoices
* Processing cash receipts onto the ledgers
* Submission of payroll to third party supplier
* Ensuring compliance with all other payroll obligations with HMRC
* Preparation of VAT returns for the French registration
* Internal reporting of debt collection
* Cash Forecasting input
* Processing general ledger entries as required
* Assisting the Financial Controller with balance sheet reconciliations.
* Performing ad-hoc tasks as requested by Financial Controller of CFO as required
* General accounting queries
* Provides cover to the Accounts Payable Clerk for holidays
Skills & Experience required:
* Qualified, or potentially final stage AAT.
* Proven working experience as a financial accountant
* Experience working with electronic banking systems
* Good communications skills with customers
* Experience with payroll calculations & HMRC reporting obligations
* High attention to detail with good Interpersonal skills
* Good communication skills
* Familiarity with ERP systems & integration with sales, customer service & warehouse functions
* Good Excel & Word skills
