Part of the Culina Group, Morgan McLernon has the largest operation in Northern and Southern Ireland serving around 120 clients, specialising in ambient, chilled, and frozen storage and logistics services.

Job Description

As the successful Assistant Accountant joining the Morgan McLernon team, you will be responsible for the preparation of monthly accounts and weekly KPI reports working to a detailed timetable.

Key Accountabilities

* Bank Reconciliations across all the banks accounts

* Reconciling and posting the credit card statements

* Reconciling and agreeing the intercompany balances, build working relationships with other companies in the group

* Month end Balance sheet reconciliations inc FX JNL’s

* Preparation and posting of monthly accruals and prepayments

* Assist in the preparation of the monthly management accounts

* Processing recharges to sub-contractors and Intercompany

* Assist with the weekly reporting

* Quarterly VAT Returns, and ROI diesel rebate scheme

* Working on ad hoc projects

* Assist across the finance team when needed

Qualifications

* Part qualified accountant with previous experience or significant previous experience

* Good understanding of accounting processes and the need for appropriate controls in place

* Strong attention to detail and good communication skills

* Ability to deliver high quality work to deadlines

* A good work ethic and ability to work as part of a team

* Ability to work on your own initiative

* A good working knowledge of Microsoft and Sage 200
