Job Description
Accounts Assistant – Part-time (16 hours per week), Central Brighton
Hybrid/remote working available
20-25k pro-rata
Do you have experience of working in a finance role or department? Are you looking for a part-time opportunity?
Part-time roles are extremely hard to come by so this rare opportunity could be the one you have been waiting for! We are supporting our client based in Central Brighton with recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant for 16 hours per week. This can be over two or three days between Monday – Friday, plus hybrid/remote working will also be considered.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
Undertaking regular debtor and creditor reviews
Processing and paying sterling and foreign payments to suppliers
Posting supplier invoices, expense claims and purchase orders onto the accounting system, including foreign transactions
Maintaining receipts records and reconciling to the merchant account
Importing new customer accounts, invoices, receipts, and refunds onto the accounting system
Completing monthly bank reconciliations
Supporting the Financial Controller in the year-end audit.
You will be responsible for reviewing and developing efficiencies in existing processes, thinking ahead and always looking for improvements. If you have the ability to take charge of and manage the bookkeeping workload and duties, along with having excellent organisation and accuracy skills then we would love to tell you more!
To be successful in this role you must be willing to support ad hoc projects that occur, as well as being able to manage your day-to-day work. Ideally you will have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel, plus accounting software such as Sage 50. Ideally you will also have general knowledge of the travel marketing with a passion for travel, or extra bonus points if you have worked in the travel industry previously, although this is not essential.
