You’ll be someone who can work pro-actively, managing your own tasks, but you’ll also be confident collaborating with others, communicating regularly with senior managers, Directors, and BDO’s Partners to enable us to serve our clients effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to our clients.
The successful candidate will gather, review, document and analyse business requirements and processes through engagement and collaboration with team members. The role-holder will gather information regarding current decentralised business practice(s) within the firm. They will recommend and plan a solution to migrate all non-contentious tasks and activities (i.e. those not requiring judgement or knowledge of the client) into a centralised team in the Shared Service Centre (SSC).
Role specific activities:
* Data collection on “as-is” state
* Determine in/out scope for tasks recommended for migration to SSC
* Recommend “to-be” process with clear definition of responsibilities of SSC/local team(s)
* Create and manage migration plan, including sequencing by stream, geography etc
* Create and manage resourcing plan for SSC
* Create and manage training plan for new centralised team
* Create and manage communications plan to include all current staff who interact with the process
* Create and manage process mapping
* Create and manage all testing and pilot stages
Business Analysis:
Facilitate meetings with stakeholders
Gather data to enable understanding, analysis and documentation of business processes
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources
Use questioning techniques to challenge requests if the scope, benefits and proposed deliverables are unclear
Maintain a broad overview of organisation needs and commercial activities across related functions
Analyse available data to create suggestions on moving forward
Business Case Development
Business Engagement
Governance
Break projects into doable tasks and set timeframes and goals
Create and update workflows
Conduct risk analyses
Prepare and provide documentation to internal teams and key stakeholders
Retrieve necessary information (e.g. user/client requirements and relevant case studies)
Monitor project progress and address potential issues
Coordinate quality controls to ensure deliverables meet requirements
Measure and report on project performance
Act as the point of contact for all participants
Requirements:
Knowledge and Experience
Experience as a Business Analyst within the professional services industry or similar with a good understanding of project management disciplines
Ideally qualified in an industry recognised project management discipline or accreditation e.g. Prince 2, Agile or similar or can demonstrate experience in delivering / working in projects using a structured approach
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills required
Experience of interpreting business requests and translating them to requirements
Interpret business information from a variety of internal and external sources
Demonstrable evidence of gathering, analysing and documenting business processes
Ability to present to an audience
Ability to convey information concisely, questioning others to check understanding
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to identify and analyse alternative approaches to dealing with issues and problems
