Location:          Hybrid/Southampton 

Salary:              £35K – £40K

We are a recruiting for a Senior Data Analyst to derive meaningful insight from data to drive actionable decisions, promote market improvement and value for stakeholders and customers in the NHH water retail market. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will contribute to the delivery of using collective expertise and independent insight to deliver the best outcome for customers. In this role you will mentor and oversee junior data analysts on the Data Insight and Analytics team, providing a point of contact for data analysis support and ensuring data insight is governed and assured. Key responsibilities:

Establishing and promoting sustainable and high-quality market data that drives meaningful insight, working within the data governance and assurance frameworks
Optimising the use of central data to support decisions for targeted market development
Delivering regular market reporting via the website and portal
Preparing adhoc reports/extracts for internal and external audiences using analytics/reporting tools.
Supporting the definition of reusable assets including data reports, metrics and dashboards
Designing, developing and maintaining SSRS and Power BI charts in conjunction with business users.
Using knowledge of the water market to develop and test hypotheses and provide meaningful insight which will drive market improvement
Providing and evangelising consumable insight at appropriate level for end user audiences
Supporting the ongoing development of the Data Insight capability through the use of tools to collate, cleanse, enrich and analyse data
Run discovery analytics to identify new and innovative opportunities, informing/influencing both market operations (e.g. incentive frameworks) and future market strategy
Act as a mentor to more junior members of the Data Insight & Analytics team, providing training and master classes 
Coordinate process for peer review and oversight of Data Analysts’ work ensuring Data Insight and Analytics team deliverables adhere to governance and assurance framework
Work across Data and Digital to ensure processes are aligned and best practice is shared
ETL and enrich market data and obtain new data sources as necessary. Work with Data Architecture team in the development and evolution of the foundation data model

Skills and experience required:

Strong analytical skills and good working knowledge of statistical models
Data cleansing and enrichment, ETL techniques
SSRS and Power BI report design and deployment
SQL and Excel essential, Power Query and R would be an advantage
Data lifecycle management
Ability to interpret complex data and convert into straight forward recommendations to a wide range of audiences
