Job Description
Optimum Recruitment Group are proud to be working with an amazing growth business based in York who are looking to appoint to a newly created role of Management Accountant.

Reporting into the Finance Manager, the purpose of the role is to provide management support for all accounting activities and ensure the timescales for monthly reporting are adhered to. A keen eye for detail is required and there is great exposure to a wide range of areas, providing good opportunities in line with their growth plans.

The role would suit ideally a qualified accountant or finalist stage studier with experience. Our client is looking to shape the finance team at the moment so there is lots of flexibility within the environment to mould the role to the individual rather than to a prescriptive job description and specification, allowing for great career opportunities.

You would be working in a fast paced environment and the role would definitely involve:

Preparing monthly management accounts with a variety of reports and commentary.

Monitoring and reporting on cashflow and providing forecasts.

*

Supporting the team in relation to budgets.

*

Liaising with the team on any issues/discrepancies within the accounts pack.

*

Preparing ad hoc reports including variance analysis.

As the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

ACCA or CIMA finalist/qualified essential.

*

Able to demonstrate relevant experience within either a financial or management accounting role.

*

Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.

*

Advanced Excel skills essential.

*

Strong communication skills with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

Ability to deliver accurate and timely information.

*

Ability to meet multiple tight deadlines.

*

Strong analytical skills.

*

Exceptional attention to detail.

*

Self-motivated and results focused.

Salary up to c£45k depending on skills, experience and qualification status plus benefits. The business also offers some hybrid working. Very modern working environment based close the York train station
