Job Description
Management Accountant, Nottingham, up to £38,000 (could go slightly higher for the right experience)
Arlington moore are working on behalf of an ambitious, growing SME based in Nottingham. This is a newly created role and an opportunity to join a successful SME as a Management Accountant with development & progression support working with an experienced Financial Controller and CIMA qualified Commercial Finance Director.
Reporting to the Financial Controller the Management Accountant will be responsible for taking ownership of the revenue, stock, and cost of sale recognition and becoming the key point of contact for the relevant department stakeholders. It will also include traditional month end procedures including ownership of the month end process and statutory reporting including preparation of the board’s finance report.
As a Management Accountant you will gain exposure to a broad range of financial activities and play a key role in stakeholder communication throughout the business operations. Payroll and transactional duties are fulfilled by the other roles within the department which include an Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger Clerk and Credit Controller.
Responsibilities of the Management Accountant.
* Forecasting & Income Recognition
* Stock Valuation
* Monthly Finance Reporting
* Government Reporting
* Ledger Close Validation
Qualifications and experience required.
* Part qualified CIMA/ACCA or qualified by experience
* Experience in hands on SME environments preferred
* Sage 50 Accounts experience advantageous
* Strong reconciliation and analysis skills
* Sound understanding and proven application of prepayment & accruals principles
* Stock Control and valuation experience is advantageous
