Job Description
Management Accountant

Permanent

Location: Manchester

Salary: 27,000 – 33,000 DOE

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, Office Hours

Main Responsibilities of the Management Accountant

Can handle large amounts of paperwork and data transfers.

Be reponsible for initiating solutions and interventions with relevant department managers and holding them accountable for their financial performance against budget.

Updating debt / aged work in progress spreadsheets for clear & detailed analysis.

Responsible for the delivery of the contract P&L and all related financial reporting to the required daily/weekly/monthly timetable.

Has responsibility for maintaining the contract budget as agreed by the Contract Manager/Director.

Has responsibility for maintaining the contract balance sheet with clarity and within required contract provisions.

Maintains a clear record of headcount, supply agreements, costs and related payments.

Provides timely, advance management information to the senior management team regarding daily/weekly operational expenditure against budget. Provides solutions and interventions to control costs/increase revenue.

Handles all petty cash, floats and expenses.

Assists with financial month end reporting.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Undertakes additional duties in line with capabilities as required to fulfil requirements needed by the contract.

Communicates effectively with all the teams to ensure there is a seamless way of working across the contract.

Experience and Skills required

An experienced finance operator with direct experience in service delivery, ideally within an operational/commercial business, interacting with operational team members.

CIMA, ACCA qualified or equivalent desirable.

Can design, implement and manage sound business processes – including daily cost control procedures, and advance forecasting of monthly P&L issues.

Possess strong data analysis.

Strong numerical and other data entry skills with great attention to detail.

Excellent reporting skills.

Solution orientated and proactive.

They possess an intermediate knowledge level of all Microsoft office packages. Fully competent in the use of PCs and other types of technology.

Has developed excellent written and verbal communication to support them in their role.

Fully capable of understanding and maintaining the confidentiality across the site and respecting the needs of all stakeholders.

Works well under pressure to meet the challenging deadlines.

Can effectively plan and manage own workloads, however understands when to ask for support when needed.

A team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact at all levels.

Demonstrates a positive 'can do' attitude and can flex their style to meet the needs of the business.
