Job Description
Large Housing Association requires an Insurance Officer to provide effective and efficient administrative support for the delivery of insurance arrangements. Provide cover for insurance policy queries and claims handling in absence of Group Insurance Manager
Responsibilities:
Support the delivery of a high-quality customer focussed insurance function
Record and document all incoming claims and notify insurers
Maintain all records pertaining to insurance claims
Handling and responding to routine e-mail enquiries via the central insurance e- mail address and liaising with the Group Insurance Manager on those of a complex nature
Collate evidence files required for new and open claims, and data required for annual policy renewal exercise
Issue Building Insurance Summary of Cover sheet and full policy documents and note the interests of leaseholders/mortgagees and the use of the property liaising with internal customers within agreed timescales
Obtain monthly reports from tenant contents scheme administrators
Prepare premium payment authorisation forms for review by Group Insurance Manager
Assist the Group Insurance Manager to prepare and issue rechargeable premiums to the respective departments
Receive from development project managers spread sheet of new development handovers and forward this to the broker account manager
Keep records of all new acquisitions and deletions to ensure at renewal that these have been recorded and taken in account.
Deal with service charge queries/complaints in relation to insurance
Maintains the central repository for all policy documentation, certificates, schedules and renewal data
Experience and skills:
Proven practical experience in an insurance environment
Experience of delivering a customer focused service
Practical experience in organising and maintaining team records and files
Experience of supplying administration support for training sessions for large groups
Effective IT skills including intermediate MS Office skills in particular Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
Good verbal and written communication skills with a wide variety of people at different levels
