Job Description
Insurance Adviser

Circa £25k DOE

Our client who is the leading provider of Insurance and Financial Service is looking for an Insurance Adviser to join their friendly and busy team, which is based in Cheshunt, Hertfrodshire.

The purpose of this role is to outline the key responsibilities, tasks and standards expected within the role. All staff have a responsibility to act with integrity within their limits of authority and in a compliant manner with all applicable regulation at all times.

Key roles and responsibilities for the Insurance Adviser:

Acquire and maintain knowledge of client’s General l Insurance products, including product licenses and competencies for your role as applicable
Support the Branch, covering other roles as needed to maintain required levels of customer service within authority limits and to contribute to the effective and efficient running of the Branch
Research, plan, implement and monitor sales & marketing initiatives, including any central campaigns, across all business areas to build a pipeline for opportunities
Plan and generate publicity for the Agency to raise profile and create opportunities, in accordance with client’s standards
Review and advise (where appropriate) on customer general insurance requirements
Maintain own knowledge and skills to sell professionally and compliantly, delivering a consistently good experience to customers to meet the requirements and standards, T&C scheme and regulators.
Plan, prospect, select and sell General Insurance products to target customers that are designed to meet their long-term needs, are compliant with sales quality and advice standards and regulatory requirements, to meet personal and Branch targets.
Investigate, consult on and process claims, within licensed authority, applying criteria to prevent loss and fraud
Check, process and manage accounting transactions, including premium collection, policy cancellation refunds and non-payment of premiums, to prevent loss, prevent money laundering.
Act as Life Qualifier to obtain appointments for Financial Advisers, Telephone Financial Advisors or Product Information Consultant to meet the Agency target
Co-ordinate and motivate the team to proactively identify Financial Services opportunities.
Deal with insurance claims within your authority, for all customers
The Ideal Candidate Key attributes & skills required for the Insurance Adviser role are:

Be able to communicate effectively, both in written format and verbal expression.
Possess good IT skills to use Microsoft programs.
Demonstrate attributes of honesty, integrity, due skill, care, and diligence at all times.
Ability to demonstrate and evidence appropriate level/s of education applicable for the role.
Possess good sales and customer service skills.
Have basic knowledge of insurance.
Be able to problem solve, use own initiative and judgement.
Previous experience in a similar role or commercial experience is required
This is an office-based role – 5 days per week, Monday to Friday- 9am to 5pm, free parking.
