Job Description
Outstanding Site Financial Controller opportunity (no 1 in finance) for a leading FMCG manufacturer based in Cheshire. Reporting to the GM on site – and to the Group CFO in the European Group HO – you will join an impressive Senior Management team, taking responsibility for accounting across 3 production sites across the UK Ireland. In an opportunity created due to the incumbent FC retiring after 20+ years, your remit will include:  

Overall responsibility for finance departments in UK and Ireland, managing a team of 6 across 3 production sites with a combined turnover of £50m.
Multisite Monthly Management Accounting, Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet.
Submission of the Finance/Management Information pack to the European Parent (£400m t/o Group).
Ensuring compliance and accurate/qualitative reporting.
Business Partnering with the General Manager, Operations/Production teams, Tech Teams, Sales and the Group CFO.
Provide insightful Financial and Operational information and KPIS to support operational & strategic decision making.
Sales & Margin reporting.
Costing.
Statutory accounts and taxes – supported by the Auditors.
Modernising existing controls and reporting to meet evolving business demand (automation/digitalization).
Proactively looking at opportunities for continuous improvement.
Stock analysis.
Expenses analysis.
Budgeting & Forecasting.
Ah hoc analysis and projects (eg margin analysis, pricing alignment, transport cost optimization, plant benchmarking).
Supporting new product development.
Assisting with capex investment cases and new contracts/new business cases.
Occasional travel to the 2 sites in the UK and Ireland, 1-2 days a quarter per site.
Meetings at the European Head office, 1-2 times a year. Our client is looking for a Qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACCA Financial Controller, with previous experience working as the No 1 on site for a similar profile manufacturer. Due to the remit and level of this role, they want someone already proven at this level – rather than someone ready to make the step – with a minimum of 5-8 years relevant working experience in a production environment. You will have a strong business/commercial acumen and the gravitas & personality required to forge strong business partner relationships all levels across the business. Experience of MFG PRO, Cognos or MS Dynamics (in particular) would be advantageous.
  
A salary of £60-70k is complimented with benefits including £7k car allowance, Bonus – Up to equivalent of 3 months salary, Pension (Employee 7%/Employer 6.5%), 25 days holiday, 4 x Salary life cover, Hybrid working (4 days office: 1 day home), (Apply online only) Mon – Thu, (Apply online only) Fri – With a degree of flexitime.
