Job Description
Company Accountant / Financial Controller – initially 16 month contract
Part time, 20 – 30 hours per week
Colwick
£33,000 – £36,000 pro rata

My client is a family-owned and family-run SME. For two generations they have been leading the industry in the design and installation of their products. They have a great opportunity for a keen individual to join a growing business, with scope to develop and progress, for the right person with the right approach.
Key Responsibilities:
* Daily sales ledger – including raising invoices, applications and chasing overdue accounts
* Reconciliation of all ledgers
* Preparation of management accounts and month end duties (prepayments, journals etc)
* Bank, Balance sheet and P&L reconciliations
* Standing Order & Direct Debit reconciliations
* Preparation of year end accounts
* Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
* VAT, CIS and corporation tax returns
* Financial reporting for Directors
* Asset register management
* Petty cash reconciliation
* Credit card reconciliation
* Stock control/management
* Liaison with accountants
* Reviewing and making efficiencies in current processes
* Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
* HMRC submissions duties
Skills & Experience:
* Have extensive experience with Sage Line 50
* Be an accounting professional with substantial knowledge of how SME’s work and operate
* Have a pragmatic and proactive approach to problem solving
* Be organized, flexible and self-motivated
* Have excellent communication & confidentiality skills
* Have the ability to identify and drive forward continuous improvement
* Hold an accounts qualification such as AAT/CIMA/ACA (or similar)/ or QBE
