Job Description
We are recruiting a Financial Controller for a dynamic, growing construction recruitment company who put innovation and technology at the heart of everything they do in order to deliver a slick human capital service. Currently working in the UK and mainland Europe with the plan in place to launch in the United States in 2023.

The post of Financial Controller has been created to support the CFO to provide a greater level of financial, commercial & operational support to the business as it continues to grow. The main responsibilities of the Financial Controller include:

Review the monthly management accounts & commentary to enable better decision making.
Support the production of the annual financial accounts and all statutory returns on a timely basis; proactively manage the relationship with the auditors, HMRC etc.
Develop timely and accurate cash flow forecasts; ensure the most appropriate use of debt & equity funding for each development and deliver timely lender reporting where necessary.
Devise KPIs and other analytical tools to review existing & future projects in real time.
Prepare budgets & rolling forecasts for costs / revenues; ensure all financial targets are met.
A range of ad hoc projects to support the needs of a growing business.
The new Financial Controller will:

Be a fully qualified accountant with at least 5 years PQE, ideally gained in a small to medium sized business.
Possess prior experience of the construction recruitment industry or a related industry.
Enjoy being involved in the production of accounts as well as operating at Board level.
Have a desire to leave their desk to understand & contribute across the entire business.
Thrive in a busy environment where there's a need to work quickly & accurately.

Financial Controller Contract: Full-time, Permanent: 47 -hours per week Monday to Friday- Office based.

As a Financial Controller:

You’ll be actively partnering with all operational functions in the business and reporting directly into the CFO and Senior Leadership Team
Driving improved financial performance to help us deliver business objectives.
While overseeing all activities relating to the delivery of Finance projects
And managing all Finance related activities, financial controls, quality standards and communication to stakeholders
With excellent communication you’ll encourage collaboration between various functional teams across the business
Overseeing the production of monthly financials, departmental budgets, multi-year forecasting and daily/weekly KPI’s
With responsibility of managing the year end audit
And maintaining accurate accounting data within the main Sage software
Essential requirements and qualifications:

You will need to be:

A Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with approximately 5 Years PQE minimum.
With Finance delivery experience, with particular focus on financial reporting, controls, business partnering and common financial processes.
Comfortable working with large amounts of data and be able to continually develop our financial reporting and provide business insights to the Senior Leadership Team.
A strong communicator and be able to work calmly under pressure and make high-level decisions on a wide range of issues
With a commercial mindset and capable of understanding the broader goals of the business.
An active manager who is able to motivate their team and develop talent to help develop Core Group’s future.
