Job Description

Air Liquide UK is currently seeking an ambitious and self-motivated individual to fulfill a financial accountant role within the Industrial Merchant (IM) Division.
The role aims to ensure the quality and reliability of financial reports for local and consolidated obligations as well supporting the company’s tax and other reporting requirements. The role supports the local accounting operations in collaboration with the european shared service centre (ALEBS), with a strong focus on the stewardship of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, preparation of accurate and timely month end deliverables. The financial accountant will be responsible for the statutory accounts preparation and provision of audit deliverables for Air Liquide UK Limited and Air Liquide Limited.
How you'll make an impact:
* Month end close – support ALEBS, accrual estimates, IRIS (consolidation tool) support for other entities
* Balance sheet reconciliation – review ALEBS output and support in delivering quality/timely recs. Assess processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Ensure action is taken on reconciling items
* Audit and Stat accounts – manage audit process for ALUK and ALLTD, including statutory account preparation
* Support other group companies in statutory accounts preparation where part of the SLA
* Corporation tax – support with provision of information from statutory accounts for corporation tax returns
* Coordination of Office for National Statistics returns
* Service level agreements – draft SLA documents for review and sign off by CFO and MD
* Contribute to finance projects and challenge current processes to continually improve finance processes
* Support the wider finance community in technical accounting matters
We'd love to hear from you if:
* You are Part qualified or newly qualified accountant with experience of preparation of financial statements and managing the external audit process
* Posses Knowledge of financial systems, SAP preferable, ability to use Microsoft &/or Google office packages to a high level of competence
* Experience of working in a fast paced environment and managing many priorities/deadlines simultaneously
* Self-motivated, independent, well-organized, good attention to detail
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, with ability to confidently present and communicate to management
* Effective team player who is also comfortable working on their own to meet the team objectives
