Job Description
Qualified Accountant
As the Qualified Accountant, you will manage accounting, VAT, and tax affairs for a range of sole traders and limited companies. This role will report directly to the business owner and will deliver full client services whilst supporting the wider development of the practice.
Key Responsibilities of the Qualified Accountant
* Prepare accurate statutory accounts, tax computations and returns, and VAT returns for a range of clients.
* Complete all HMRC compliance work including, VAT registrations, Companies house deadlines, year-end, Corporation tax, P11D’s,
* Ensure Anti Money-Laundering identification checks are undertaken on all new clients and design a process and procedure to manage this
* Manage MTD (Making Tax Digital) for the practice
* Produce quarterly, monthly, and annual management accounts for assigned clients.
* Pinpoint and reconcile discrepancies through accounts analysis.
* Handle day-to-day enquiries and questions from clients via email and phone.
* Develop strong client relationships, conduct client interviews, and new client onboarding
* Mentor the Senior Bookkeeper and provide guidance
* Design and develop workflow processes and procedures for the practice
* Maintain an exceptional level of compliance knowledge around financial and legal requirements and enforce strict adherence to the requirements.
* Support the business owner in various financial projects as they arise.

Qualified Accountant – Essential
* Strong experience working within a practice environment in a hands-on role.
* ACCA qualified or similar
* Experienced with Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks
* Experience with accounts production software such as TaxCalc or Iris
* Advanced Excel skills
* Able to write reports that explain complex technical issues in a way that clients can understand.
* Process driven, experienced in developing processes and procedures in a practice environment.
* High level of numeracy.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
* Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
* Solid problem-solving ability.
* The confidence to contribute, advise and challenge the status quo.
* The ability to work effectively under pressure to tight deadlines.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Hours: 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday -Due to continued growth, there is an optional opportunity for these hours to be extended in the future.
Salary: £45,000.00 – £60,000.00 pro rata, dependent on skills and experience
