Job Description
The Ultra Finance function leads the budgeting and forecasting processes and supports the strategy process, as well as managing performance against budget. In addition, it ensures that effective financial controls are in operation in all businesses to ensure stewardship of the Group's assets. It ensures compliance with best professional standards, statutory financial requirements and fiscal provision and undertakes tax planning activities and ensure that the Group's tax reporting duties are discharged. It ensures that the Group has adequate long-term funding to meet the requirements of its Strategic Plan and supports M&A.

This role will be Hybrid within a 2 hour commute from our Dartmouth, Nova Scotia Engineering & Manufacturing Facility or Loudwater, UK.

Financial Accounting & Reporting in Ultra are responsible for ensuring that all transactions are recorded, summarised and presented in financial reports or financial statements to meet regulatory requirements and for producing information to inform and enable decision making, planning and performance evaluation.

As an Assistant Controller you will manage professionals in a defined area of Ultra. Develop plans for their team to ensure optimum use of time and resources. Ensure team performance is aligned and contributes to the overall plans of their area.

Required Skills:

* ​Independent, Lead and delegate when the Financial Controller is away on business or vacation

* CPA designation or currently in the Program with Undergrad in Business Commerce, Finance or Accounting preferably with MBA

* Strong Excel and Presentation skills to Leadership

Desired Skills:

* Preferred experience with monthly accounting cycle with journals, expenses, financial reports, etc.

* Experience working with outside Audit Parties and with year end tax reporting preferably within a Private Company

* Candidate must be capable of acquiring security clearance at SC level
