Job Description
Position: Finance Officer Council Tax/Business Rates

Location: Central London

Reports to: Head of Operational Finance

Overview A major property group, headquartered in London, with over £3.5 billion of property assets in the UK and USA. The UK based rates department is responsible for the payment all council tax and business rates relating to vacant properties for all commercial and residential properties owned by the group located throughout the UK. Main Duties and Responsibilities – Review and analyse correctness of rating bills received of council authorities – input bills onto Horizon – Review though system reports that all vacant units have an assessment and billing is up to date – Process all refunds due from council authorities – Work with third party companies, should the need arise, to ensure that all the groups vacant units have been assessed – Work with council authorities to resolves any queries – Be Involved with any other ad hoc tasks as deemed necessary within the role

The Person

Essential experience and knowledge – Good Excel and numeracy skills with ability to manipulate large volumes of data – Keen to take ownership of, and be responsible for, work produced – Confident and polite communicator, willing to learn and adapt B
