Job Description
Howarth Morris are looking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager for an SME Logistics business based in Warrington.
   
The Company
  
Providing secure, reliable and fully insured same day, dedicated and freight forwarding services to clients ranging from SMEs to Blue chip companies.
  
The Role
  
A key part of the senior leadership team providing support to the MD and wider business. Communication of relevant and timely management information to facilitate improved performance and financial control to support appropriate financial decisions.
  
Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Managing Director, you'll be a key member of the senior leadership team and be involved in development work around business growth plans, culture and success, with our non-exe Directors.
Responsible for leading and developing the finance team with full accountability for the team's performance and as part of the senior leadership team
Accountable for ensuring robust financial systems are developed and deployed including sales ledger, purchase ledger and cash flow
Work closely with the MD in forecasting and budgeting, warning of any business risks
Develop and produce financial reports for the MD
Produce accurate management accounts and cashflow for monthly meeting with MD
Manage the relationship with external accountants ensuring payroll, pensions and tax are all correct and paid on time.
Work closely with the Sales & Logistics departments to ensure all credit control processes are managed effectively
Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices.
Ownership of role specific projects and to be an integral part of wider business projects as and when required
Responsible for the Health & Safety ensuring all compliance and audits are upheld and that the relevant risks are identified, assessed and mitigated
Candidate Requirements

AAT, ACA, ACCA, CIMA Qualified or equivalent
A background in logistics would be an advantage but not essential
Experience of dealing with contractor payments
Ownder-managed SME experience would be advantageous
Ability to 'wear many hats' getting involved in all aspects of running the business
A strong leader with ability to build relationships internally and externally
IT literate with experience working on ERP systems and strong MS Excel (Vlook Ups, Pivot Tables)   Howarth Morris
