WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU?

Annual salary of £23,700 based on experience

Full time/ Permanent position

Working hours are Monday to Friday between 9.00am to 5.00pm

20 days annual leave + bank holidays

THE ROLE

Our client is looking for an experienced Financial Assistant to join their thriving Healthcare Department to support services within the business. This is a perfect opportunity for you to come in and make the role your own, whilst working in an environment which is dedicated to helping you succeed and develop. Duties will include

Preparing annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, using both core records and clients accounting software (TBs etc); including analysis of receipts and payments, preparation of bank reconciliations, preparation of control accounts for major Balance Sheet items and preparing and posting journal entries

Preparing provisional business tax computations.

Demonstrating an understanding of the principles of Bookkeeping

Preparing accounts file working papers to a high standard

Increasing knowledge of using spreadsheets, bookkeeping software and year end software

Assisting on larger audit and accounts and other ad hoc assignments

Update time sheets daily in order to identify the profitability of each client

Preparing bank reconciliations and analysing client’s manual records into a suitable format on either excel spreadsheets or Xero.

Preparing control accounts for trade debtors, trade creditors, social security and VAT as well as being able to prepare schedules of accruals, prepayments and other such accounting adjustments

THE PERSON

The successful candidate will have:

Previous working experience as a Finance Assistant, Finance Officer or similar role which covers the core responsibilities of the position

Good knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures

Advanced MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions)

Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Sage, Xero)

Organisational and time-management skills

Strong attention to detail with an ability to identify numerical errors
