Job Description

Job Brief:

The role is to support the finance team in providing the operational management with information required for the successful running of the department. To learn and understand all functions of the finance department to be able to cover a wide range of responsibilities. To assist in the smooth running of the office, ensuring that certain key areas are completed in a timely manner, as stipulated in the month end timetable.

Main Responsibilities:

· Support the financial accountant with management of cash forecasting to aid with critical business decisions.

· Cash book, including extracting daily bank statements and daily bank reconciliation.

· Cash posting and allocation of sales, purchase and nominal ledger entries and management of the cashbook on a daily basis.

· Raising manual cheques and preparing cheque receipts for banking.

· Reconciliation and management of the petty cash.

· Update filing systems for digitalised documents and backup in an efficient manner.

· Assist in delivering the annual audit & statutory reporting requirements.

· Balance sheet reconciliation.

· Support the purchase ledger team as required.

· Phone cover during busy periods.

· Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects.

Qualifications

Experience & Skills:

· Outlook Email, MS Excel / Word / accounting package experience (such as Sage/SAP).

· Demonstrate a clear understanding of confidentiality and data protection within the business.

· Demonstrate good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise, multi task and manage work to a high standard and strict deadlines.

· A good understanding of accounting knowledge. A qualification in AAT or book keeping is preferable.

· Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the confidence to liaise with people at all levels within the business.

· Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business and its customers.

· Must be a strong team player, have a good work ethic and remain professional at all times.
