Job Description
Experienced Credit Controller

Southampton – Fareham area

Circa £28k – £32k per annum, depending on experience

Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm

This is a new opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller to join the accounts team of a leading DIY and Trade business in between Southampton and Fareham. You will be joining a small but friendly team in a role which offers opportunities to gain experience in a very secure sector with strong ties to construction, trade and residential homes.

About the Role

You will be working within a friendly and experienced accounts team within the construction industry.

Your responsibilities will include:

Sales Ledger – ensuring collection of outstanding invoices are chased daily
Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
Reconciliation of Sales Ledger at month-end
Monitor and control overdue customer amounts
Apply relevant Credit Control procedures to overdue balances
Responsible to managing statements sent to Customers
Responsible for ensuring queries/disputes are resolved
Assisting the Accounts team with other accounting tasks as required

What we need from you

For this role we are looking for an experienced Credit Controller (5 years +), ideally with a background in a construction related industry. Experience with SAGE 50 and CIS, as well as strong general knowledge of accounting procedures would also be required.

Other requirements include:

AAT Level 2 or above
Purchase ledger experience
Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) to include Maths
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Highly organised with excellent time management skills.
Able to communicate well at all levels.
Computer literate Due to location you will need to drive but there is free onsite parking available.
