We are looking for a confident collections claims handler to join a friendly and flexible team in Uxbridge.

Role: Collections Claims Handler
Location: Uxbridge
Hours: 8am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £21,000 – £25,000 + Incentives

Overview:

As a Collections Claims Handler you will be responsible for the negotiation and settlement of credit hire, storage and recovery invoices with insurers following motor traffic accident. Day-to-day, you will take ownership of your own caseload.

Responsibilities:

Confident negotiation with third parties in order to achieve successful settlement results
Pro-actively make outbound calls to insurers to discuss cases and agree settlement terms
Application of the ABI GTA, relevant case law and credit hire principles in order to settle cases
To hit both individual and team weekly and monthly targets for cash collection to ensure consistent cash flow into the business
Apply a structured approach to managing your own caseload of circa 150 cases with autonomy
To proactively identify cases where we cannot reach an amicable agreement with third party insurers and refer to the litigation team to issue legal proceedings
To effectively keep clients up-to-date with the recovery process to ensure their cooperation should we need it to issue legal proceedings against the third party insurer
Comprehensively review and appraise cases prior to escalating to your line manager
Liaise with other parties such as solicitors, insurers and repairers regarding ongoing cases Skills and Qualifications:

A good level of knowledge of vehicles
Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills
Great communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to negotiate confidently
The ability to multitask, prioritise and work effectively to deadlines
A can do attitude and flexibility to assist other areas of the business as required
The ability to make fast, informed decisions
The ability to make effective relationships with colleagues
A working knowledge of Word/ Excel/Outlook and basic IT skillsDesirable skills:

Previous experience of handling an RTA/Personal Injury/Credit hire litigation caseload representing either Claimants or Defendants.What we offer you:
