Job Description
Job Title: Business Analyst

Location: London (Remote/Hybrid)

Duration: 6 months

My high-profile client are recruiting for a Business analyst. The role is currently a remote working role with the possibility of returning for some days in the office, working normal office hours. The role will be for a 6-month contracting position.

We help these clients interpret the data to influence their decisions on to manage their risk portfolios

Your Role

The Business Analyst sits within the Firm Technology Vortex development team. They will play an important role in defining complex requirements related to our catastrophe modelling platform, Vortex. They will work closely with product managers, development teams, business stakeholders and users such as catastrophe analysts and actuaries.

Work closely with Product Management, Stakeholders and users to understand business requirements and determine functional and non-functional requirements.
Elicit and define business requirements within the product backlogs and work closely with the development team to ensure that requirements are understood and developed as needed.
Provide support and assistance for the resolution of issues in UAT and production environments
Data preparation and analysis activities.
Support the business with UAT and production releases, ensuring engagement and readiness
Work and collaborate with other product teams and parts of the business, to understand and have awareness of other initiatives in the catastrophe modelling domain, and to provide updates as necessary.

Your experience

3-5 years demonstrable success as a Business Analyst.
Able to collect data, analyse business problems, make recommendations/proposals & resolve complex problems
Highly articulate and able to communicate and influence with confidence and credibility at all levels
Experience of Re/Insurance
Knowledge of catastrophe modelling across multiple perils. Experience of using either inhouse or vendor systems such as RMS and AIR would be beneficial.
Experience of working with Agile development teams and associated methodologies e.g. SCRUM
