Job Description
Providing accurate and timely information relating to monthly management accounts and the preparation of annual budgets and forecast information, our Fife based client are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their team, providing financial and accounting support to the Group financial Accountant and Group Financial Controller. Working for a leader in marine and environmental services delivering safe and cost-effective solutions the Assistant Management Accountant will also process the Group’s VAT returns, expense and credit card returns and assist the team with the annual audit process. While there will be an initial requirement to be based in the office this role will offer hybrid working.
THE SUCCESFUL APPLICANT
* ACCA / CIMA / ICAS or equivalent / part qualified
* IT Skills – Microsoft Office experience, be an Advanced user of Excel
* Time management skills and a high attention to detail and accuracy of work
* Excellent relationship building and customer service skills – internally and externally
* Reliability and integrity
* Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines and targets
* Ability to work alone and within a team whilst understanding business and client needs
* Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline, desirable
* Current full UK Driving Licence
JOB DESCRIPTION
Principal Responsibilities
* Work with the Group Financial Accountant to ensure monthly management accounts are accurate and reflect operational activities
* Maintenance of the Group’s fixed asset registers
* Processing the Group’s monthly internal recharges
* Processing the Group’s VAT returns
* Processing expense and credit card returns
* Maintenance of the Group’s stock module
* Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecast information as required
* Assist with the annual audit process
* Developing and improving processes to achieve best practice

* Ensure all work is conducted in full compliance with Company Health, Safety & Environmental Policies, associated site safety regulations and good industry practice
* Adopt a pro-active approach to the Company Safety Management System and demonstrate safe working practices during all working activities and contribute to all safety initiatives as required
Technical Integrity
* Adhere to Company and Regulatory documentation and procedures
Communications / Reporting
* Ensure that there is free and open communication both within and across departments, providing accurate and timely information to line manager
* Provide required input to meetings, planning initiatives etc.
Innovation / Knowledge Transfer
* Promote ideas, which will increase efficiency, reduce cost or time without compromising service standards and present to line manager
* Support team performance by sharing knowledge and best practice at all levels
Team Working
* Adopt a flexible working attitude to provide support across all departments to ensure team success
* Be open to any changes on working practices and/or development within the role
* Promote and develop effective working relationships with colleagues, other departments, suppliers, clients and customers
