Job Description
Finance and accountancy professionals, are you looking to join an impressive and leading organisation in the Melksham area?
Our client is a leading business that provides solutions in their specialised field of expertise from design right through to the product, so you get to see and account for the full picture, one that is highly interesting too.
They need a reputable and capable Assistant Management Accountant to join them as soon as possible on an interim basis (with a very real chance of the post going permanent).
Your new position offers you plenty of scope to utilise your accounting and finance skills and any studies undertaken so far, and to learn new ones whilst undertaking the following duties:
• Assisting with reviewing the Profit and Loss account against budget/reforecast, investigating, and explaining variances
• Maintaining the General Ledger, checking and providing coding
• Calculating customer rebates
• Completing monthly accruals and prepayments
• Assisting in preparation of annual budget and quarterly reforecasts
• Proactively identify system and process improvements and opportunities to add value to the business
• Supporting the finance team to ensure robust internal control in the business
• Supporting the team to investigate unusual transactions in the balance sheet accounts
• Assisting with the preparation of half year and year-end accounts
• Support Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Financial Accounting and FP&A teams as required
About you
Being a team player and flexible is without doubt essential to your success in this role as the team have ambitious improvement plans and as such will require you to be adaptive to changing requests and ways of working as well as;
• A graduate with an accounting degree, AAT studier or qualified, or similar
• Having proven working knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS will be ideal
• Experience of reporting and management accounting
• Intermediate Excel User
• Experience of working with ERP systems and having the ability to learn new software quickly
• Excellent communication and the ability to develop strong working relationships
• Analytical skills, a keen eye for detail and a proactive attitude to problem solving
