Job Description
Our client is a small accountancy practice based in Stone with clients across the UK to whom they provide ongoing financial accounting support and reporting services. They are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to support the development of the practice. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate as there is great scope to develop in the role and gain additional responsibility. They offer hybrid working, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. 
 
Job Description:
 
The Assistant Accountant role will comprise of the following responsibilities:-

Posting of purchase invoices, statement reconciliations and supplier payments
Credit Control including sending monthly statements and contacting customers by phone and email to ensure timely receipt of payment
Bank reconciliations You will then work towards progression to the following responsibilities:

Maintaining and developing relationships with clients
Preparation of accounts to trial balance
Preparation of management information
Preparation of VAT returns It would be good to see Assistant Accountant candidates with:

AAT part qualified/qualified or qualified by experience
Accounts experience in practice or industry
Experience of double entry bookkeeping
Experience with Sage 200, Sage 50, Sage One would be desirable
Able to work as part of a small team but also work independently
Excellent attention to detail Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm
Salary: £20,000 – £25,000 per annum depending on experience
