Job Description
A friendly, growing, established financial services organisation based in Slough is looking for an Underwriting Specialist to join its Underwriting team. The role's main purpose is to assess financial risk associated with extending customer credit and financing. The role will involve manually underwriting proposals inline with credit/underwriting policy rules, working within service level targets and ensuring the quality of underwriting decisions. Previous underwriting experience is essential, and experience within the automotive financial services industry would be an advantage.

Key responsibilities

 Underwrites loans in accordance with credit policy rules, retail portfolio quality and service level adherence targets

 Ensure Underwriting work queues are reviewed in accordance with agreed work queue status review targets

 Self manages own work queue

 Answers inbound dealer and Account Manager enquiry calls in accordance with average speed of answer targets

 Answers inbound Payout and Activation enquiry calls as required

 Ensures Team Leader is aware of potential issues associated with proposal backlog

 Alerts Team Leader to those Dealers and or Account Managers that are reluctant to review proposal status using the Genus system

 Undertake testing and tuning of the retail and commercial scorecards

 Meet individual telephone statistic goals

 Adhere to company and regulatory processes and policies

 Participate in tuning of any predictive risk modelling (in conjunction with the Team Leader and or Collections personnel)

 Review SLA adherence and performance reports (in conjunction with Team Leader)

Experience/skills required

– Previous Underwriting or Credit Analyst experience

– Previous experience in the automotive or consumer finance industry an advantage

– Commutable distance from Slough – hybrid working can be offered
