Job Description
UNDERWRITER
Our client is a highly regarded finance lender who offer a range of loan products to the commercial sector. They are a market leader and the working environment is fantastic. Due to expansion of the business they are recruiting for an Underwriter to join the team.
The Underwriter will provide a high standard of underwriting knowledge and support the processing of loan agreements.
The Duties:
* Adhere to all lending criteria using information from all sources
* Provide an accurate evaluation to ensure the outcome is affordable and feasible
* Managing a pipeline of cases and dealing with a high volume of applications and prioritise accordingly
* Extensive liaison with brokers by providing regular and clear updates on a regular basis
* Managing own caseload
* Ensure that best practice is followed at all times and in line with regulatory requirements
* Handle all underwriting queries in a polite and professional manner
* Ensure all internal systems are managed and updated regularly
* Responsible for underwriting all loan applications and ensure that the loan is suitable for the client
* Showing strong rationale against any lending decision
The Person:
* Knowledge of underwriting process
* Good planning and organisational skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Underwriting experience ideally gained with a lender
* Proactive and hardworking
* Ability to prioritise busy workload
