Job Description
Our client is a reputable Kent based construction contractor who specialise in the following sectors: demolition, waste, rail, and asbestos.

They currently have an opening for a Transport Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

This role will be based at their head office in Sidcup.

The transport manager must have experience in a range of different HGV operations. This would include Grabs, Tippers, RORO, Hiab and Flat beds. The manager must have a range of tickets. The manager will be lead on the running of the transport department and work with Transport Director. The role is key a safety critical worker and has duties to reflect this in his role.

Main Responsibilities:

Support the day to day operations of the transport division
Weekly management of Transport Operatives
Management of FORS paperwork
Management of all RTC's and Incidents involving fleet
Ensure all drivers complete and manage daily checks
Driving fleet on daily basis
Report any service issues to the Transport Director
Complete daily paperwork for materials
Supervision of the fleet of lorries
Supervision of lorry operations in the yard and waste centre
Manage the driver hours
Frontline Manager for Transport
Standby on out of hours operation
Downloading of ALL drivers' cards
Managing the workload of other drivers
Help with FORS paperwork and management
Support Transport Director with special duties/projects
Step in for Transport Director when on leaveCriteria:

CPC license
Previous experience as a Transport Manager with a similar type company
Strong communication and organisation skills
Strong IT skills
Flexible on hours/days
