Job Description
Senior/Lead Business Analyst – Commodities/Trading (Permanent)
Location: London/Hybrid working
Salary: 75-85k + bonus
Are you an experienced or passionate Business Analyst looking to broaden your horizons in a leading natural resources provider? If so this could certainly be an opportunity worth considering.
Working with some of the biggest names in the industry, this exciting pioneer in commodities has made it very clear that their rapid expansion is not over – in fact the business has committed to a significant head count increase and are looking for experienced Business Analysts to join their team of passionate and highly-skilled professionals to participate in delivery, triage & analysis which will include taking the lead in the development of business analysis best practice.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build and manage relationships with key Business Stakeholders, Solution Owners, Backlog Owners, scrum teams, User Experience leads and other stakeholders.
* Understand and clearly communicate business requirements, and business value
* Write epics, stories and acceptance criteria
* Manage stakeholder expectations and raise appropriate issues to project leaders as necessary.
* Participate in and facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily scrums, sprint planning, sprint reviews.
* Facilitate user acceptance and integration testing of features before promotion to various environments.
* Facilitate training sessions to internal stakeholders on new feature functionality.
* Understand organizational motivations including problems, goals, and objectives.
* Demonstrate that business needs are satisfied within a given technical solution.
* Contribution to the development of business analysis best practices Front Office and support and mentoring of other Business Analysts
Key Requirements
* Experience in working in an Agile model.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills applicable to a wide audience including senior and executive management, business users etc., presenting information in a concise and effective manner to users, management, and various departments using assorted communication mediums.
* Proven track record of gathering business requirements and translating them into user stories/functional specifications and the ownership to take them through the Agile life-cycle from Developers and QAs to sign off with business users, gained on projects of considerable scale and/or complexity.
* Experience as a Lead BA, heading up a small team of BAs and with the necessary leadership skills to take accountability for the successful delivery and prioritization of projects of various size and complexity to agreed timescales.
* Excellent meeting and workshop facilitation skills.
* Skilled practitioner in business analysis techniques and tools and the ability to train and mentor more junior members of the team to gain the necessary skills.
* Strong knowledge of JIRA or similar issue management systems.
* Excellent organisation/project planning, time management, and change management skills across multiple functional groups and departments.
