Babcock Corporate Services (BCS)
The SAP Systems Accountant role is based within our Babcock Corporate Services (BCS) business unit.
Babcock Corporate Services (BCS) is a global function, with our largest site being Lakeside in Portsmouth, but we operate from multiple sites around the world. BCS supplies and operates all IT, security, procurement, and finance Shared Services. We are embedded alongside the operations that we serve, enabling us to maintain close working relationships that support delivery to our customers. We drive standardisation, simplification and automation across Babcock, to help generate sustainable value for the group and our external customers.
The role
The difference our new SAP Systems Accountant will make
As a SAP Systems Accountant, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you'll be an integral member of the Finance Systems team that provide a centralised point of control & support to Babcock's finance community, with regards to end to end business processes and the use of Business Integrated Systems.
Day to day, you'll carry out planning of month end, quarter end and year end timetables and running of the Financial 'Closing Cockpit' at month-ends. This includes processing of depreciation, exchange rate revaluations and project settlements including Intra Company and all the controls around opening and closing ledgers for approx. 60 companies.

Essential experience
You will need extensive experience in a similar SAP systems role, and you will need to be Qualified, Part-Qualified Accountant or QBE.
You will also need:
Advanced Excel skills
Experience in working in a large multi-site and matrix organisation.
Mentoring of colleagues and up skilling of SSC staff with greater knowledge and awareness of systems, processes and applications.Lastly, you will need to hold or have the ability to obtain 'SC' Security Clearance.
