Job Description
Our Felixstowe Client is looking for a part time Sales Ledger Clerk for around 2/3 days per week to join their finance team. (9am to 17:30 working days)
Job Purpose
Part of the finance team with responsibility to ensure that customers are paying on time and areas/debts are collected and administered on a timely basis in accordance with Company policy.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain the debtors list and ensure the list is under control and in line with our targets. Provide weekly information/reports to demonstrate this and actions taken to control the cash flow. Highlight immediately any concerns as regards collection of cash
Send weekly statements to debtors
Contact clients by phone to collect payment
Maintain an auditable trail of contact.
Administer follow up letters and other courses of action to maintain cashflow.
Resolve sales invoice queries with Operations department within 7 days and advise management of outstanding issues
Any other duties that might be reasonably required by the business
Person Profile, Skills and Experience
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel)
Experience of Accounts procedures and packages
Numeracy skills
Accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work to deadlines
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Professional and confident telephone manner and e-mail etiquette
