Job Description
My client is a leading company within the Australian car rental space. Due to significant growth over the last 12 months, they are currently looking to recruit experienced recoveries Handlers to join their team based in the UK.
The Recoveries Specialist is responsible for managing a portfolio of credit hire and repairer claims across the Group to conclusion or escalation. This will involve investigation, review of documentation and presentation of relevant information. The role will also maintain a high standard of claim settlements with maximum revenue recovery and minimum write-off values. This will be achieved through assessing liability, recovery potential and negotiating with third parties and insurers.
* Communicate with key internal and external stakeholders to compile accurate and detailed file notes including confirmation of liability. Confirming that all information is obtained to meet the customers’ demands.
* Investigate all evidential requirements to progress the claim and any discrepancies raised in relation to the customers costs.
* Review and interpret claim related documentation such as assessment reports, repair estimates/invoices and towing/storage invoices.
* Research and assess market rate evidence for the invoice period, car hire details (i.e location, like for like and vehicle type hired) and complete rate review screen.
* Proactively negotiate the recovery % of at fault claims with insurers or at fault parties to ensure the timely recovery of monies whilst maximising the recovery potential.
* Negotiate a settlement with insurers based on factual supporting evidence and aim to reduce the number of write-off values.
* Maintain clear and detailed email correspondence to all incoming and outgoing stakeholders, repairers and insurance companies and ensure all correspondence is documented in our system.
* Prepare thorough file details to escalate a claim to the legal department when deemed appropriate and notify customers of escalation, focussing on establishing customer awareness.
* Track the collection of monies, confirm payment has been received once settlement is agreed upon and close file appropriately.
* Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders across the company to ensure transparency and inefficiencies are dealt with.
What we are looking for…
* Previous experience managing a portfolio of claims is highly desirable.
* Motor Vehicle Hire/ Credit hire knowledge/ insurance industry experience desirable but not essential.
* Strong decision making and analytical skills to be able to understand situations and information to finalise claims.
* Excellent negotiation and conflict management skills; ability to exceed KPI’s around successfully negotiated outcomes.
* Strong communication (both written and verbal) and customer service skills.
* Ability to work supportively within a team and assist team members with work as needed to be a committed team player who openly communicates and shares knowledge.
