We are currently recruiting a Purchase Ledger Assistant for a well established Food Manufacturer in Bury
The role of the purchase ledger administrator is to contribute to effective financial management through maintenance of the ledger; ensuring the timely and accurate posting of supplier invoices, query resolution, statement reconciliation and making payments. They will also play a key role in maintaining/establishing relationships with suppliers.
They will an integral part of the Finance department and report directly into the Finance Manager.
Role/Responsibilities
* Registering and processing of supplier invoices by use of the Navision system
* Matching purchase orders and delivery notes received from the goods in team
* Investigate and resolve all queries relating to invoices, purchase orders or delivery notes
* Ensure all accounts are maintained and all debts are paid in a timely manner, including ad hoc supplier statement reconciliations.
* Process weekly BAC’s payment run
* Set up new suppliers on the Nav system
* Periodic aged creditor reviews with supervisor/finance manager
* Complete all duties in an accurate and timely manner.
* Support the wider Accounts team with Ad Hoc requests relating to all aspects of the Finance Department.
* Build effective working relationships internally and externally.
Attributes/Skills/Competencies
* Confident, enthusiastic individual with the ability to manage relationships with suppliers and internal contacts and continually exceed their expectations with a customer focused attitude
* Ensure a high level of internal customer service is upheld at all times
* Experience of using and competent with Excel and other Microsoft packages
* Must be capable of working with attention to detail, accurately and diligently to agreed time scales
* Capable of working autonomously when required
* Ability to think around a problem to develop solutions, and use their initiative
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive and flexible approach
* Ability to work in a fast paced, busy environment
* Ability to manage and prioritise workload
