Job Description
Alexander Steele Recruitment are looking for a Project Accountant to join a food manufacturing business based in Merseyside. This is easily commutable from both Liverpool and Manchester.

The chosen project accountant will undertake profit improvement projects in areas such as haulage, waste analysis and reduction, factory overhead recovery review and update to reflect current costs etc.

The role also involves responsibility for the preparation of two subsidiary accounts accurately, timely and in accordance with current legislation.

Responsibilities:

* Production of monthly financial accounts including Finance pack, P & L, balance sheet and cash flow

* Preparation and submission of monthly load file to Corporate and quarterly reporting

* Monitor actual expenditure against budgeted expenditure, report, challenge and investigate any variances

* Preparation of Budgets and Reforecasts

* Reconcile control accounts.

* Prepare statutory accounts and year end schedules for audit and liaise with audit team

* Complete VAT returns.

* Liaise with Inland Revenue, Customs & Excise and bank.

* Prepare P11d’s.

* Prepare monthly/weekly payment runs

* Cashflow forecasting

* Working with the credit team to ensure debtors are collected

* Review, documentation and implementation of improvements to current internal controls

* Adhoc reporting and project work as required

Required

* You will ideally experience working within manufacturing

* ACMA.

* CIMIA PART QUALIFIED (Management/Strategic Level)

* Experience of Sage
