Job Description
Our client, a leading education company, are seeking a Payroll Manager to supervise 1x Payroll Assistant whilst processing a busy payroll. The company are Hhappy to look at a Senior Payroll professional who wants to take the next step in their payroll career. Offering heaps of flexibility and hybrid working!

As Payroll Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

Ensuring that the full-time and variable pay cycles for the UK are completed with the highest accuracy and are finalised by the deadlines provided. Submitting RTI and preparing HMRC payments. (Setting up BACS transfers and payments where necessary)
Working closely with the HR team to ensure payroll reflects any people movement throughout relevant months.
Processing new starters, leavers and any pending changes via Select Pay/Select HR as well as calculating SSP, SMP and any other ad hoc payments
Responsible for submitting monthly payments to our pension provider, ensuring any new enrolments are processed in line with legal and company regulations. This may also include dealing with opt out requests and other queries regarding pensions.
Leading and developing the payroll team to ensure the highest delivery of service to all employees
Oversight and management of all employee payroll questions administered through our internal help desk ticketing system and Payroll inbox
Ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory tasks including year-end process. Keeping up to date with legislative updates and monitoring any future compliance requirements for the Group
Ensuring that record keeping and filing of key documents is of the highest order
Continuously improving processes to ensure efficiency
Create and maintain a strong working relationship with the RM team, Business Process Manager and senior management to ensure our people are paid accurately and on time
Providing monthly analysis to the FP&A team to support with cost control and variance analysis
Other – performance of any other duties reasonably required by the Financial Controller
