Payroll & Benefit Manager

Based near Woking
£37,500 – £40,000 per annum
24 days holidays + bank holidays
Syntech Recruitment are searching for a Payroll & Benefit Manager for our manufacturing client based out near Woking. Working within a HR team, this role will be working closely with the finance department and will be responsible for the maintenance of all aspects of the UK payroll of +/= 130 UK based staff.
This role will be playing a fundamental role In bring a new acquisition of 20+ staff onto established or similar staff benefits, time, attendance and pay.

Payroll & Benefit Manager Duties:

Full responsibility for the time and attendance system, weekly preparation of timesheets for line manager's and ensuring that all gapes in recorded time are accounted for correctly and processed on payroll
Liaising with the HR Assistant / Manager for information and changes applicable to staff salaries
Calculating statutory payments: SMP, SAP, SPP, SSP etc
Preparing the in-house, monthly payroll including providing the calculations and manipulating excel data for the payment of overtime, production bonus and sales commission payments
Preparing and posting the payroll balance sheets into the nominal ledger and reconciliation of the net pay control account
Proactively keeping up to date with new payroll legislation, compliance and saviding senior management as required
Administering the company credit cards
Performing the payroll year end and p11d's for employees and checking submission to HMRC
Payroll & Benefit Manager Profile:

CIPP or equivalent qualification is desirable but not essential
Strong in-house payroll experience, with a minimum 2 years in a stand-alone payroll position
Experience of mainstream ERP, payroll and time & attendance management software (Our client uses Systeline Infor ERP, ADP & Zenih)
Basic account qualification like AAT is desirable but it is not essential if experience in double entry bookkeeping exists
Good Excel skills, including advanced formulas and data manipulation
Sound knowledge of current payroll and pension legislation
