Summary:

We are looking for a Market Analyst to join an international sustainability and energy advisory. As the Market Analyst you provide support to the Markets, Trading and Risk team in their strategic decision making and day to-day operations.  In this role you will carry out fundamental and technical analyses of energy markets, develop inhouse models, collate information for publications, and produce market updates based upon your findings. In this role you will need a degree in a related discipline, advance Excel, modelling, and VBA skills, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience working within the European energy markets, a good working knowledge of European energy policies and regulations, and python programming skills are desirable but not essential. Key responsibilities:

Update and maintain key fundamental and technical analyses of energy markets
Develop inhouse models to drive efficiencies within the team
Present statistical information to key internal stakeholders
Source and collate relevant information as required for regular newsletters and publications
Produce frequent market updates based on research of fundamental and technical analysis
Be an integral part of the trading and risk management team
Be collaborative and be part of the team’s success

Skills and experience required: 

Essential 

Degree educated in a related mathematical/financial/energy discipline   
Advanced excel, modelling and VBA skills
Excellent communication, written & verbal, skills  
Independent and enjoys taking initiative
Strong team player with commercial focusDesirable 

Experience working in European energy markets
Good working knowledge of European energy industry policies and regulation
Python programming language skills
Fluent in English and an additional European language
Experience of working in a fast-paced energy environment
Knowledge of the fundamental drivers of the energy markets
