Your New Job Title: Mandarin speaking Risk Control Officer

The Skills You'll Need: Experience in Interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB) and market risk management, written and spoken Mandarin Chinese

What You'll be Doing Each Day:

As a second line role, support and challenge the management of risks and report material risk issues which fall into the remit of the Risk & ALM Department to the Head of Department and Senior Management to ensure that risks are managed within the Bank’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements.

* Proactively challenge the first line’s risk identification and management of operational risk.

* Market risk and interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB) reporting: produce daily, weekly monthly and quarterly market risk and IRRBB reports for various stakeholders, including HQ and Senior Management. (Specifically: HO returns G32-G33 and J as well as ALCO reports and Risk & Compliance Committee reports).

* Market risk management: monitor the Bank’s risk position (Banking and Trading) and VaR on a daily basis and perform ad hoc analyses.

* Market risk limit management: both banking and trading book risk limits management and reporting on daily/ weekly/quarterly basis via the bank’s Risk systems.

* Product Control: Ex-ante risk and PC daily management and reporting via the bank GPC system.

* Asset & liability management: assist with FTP updates and produce management information for ALCO and Risk & Compliance Committee meetings.

* Other tasks as directed by the department supervisor and manager.

The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:

* Quantitative education background (maths, physics, engineering or IT) with MSc or equivalent in Finance/Risk/Accounting;

* Excellent Excel skills (up to VBA level) and Microsoft Office application skills with coding education and capability as a plus;

* Team work and independent "can do" attitude;

* Interested in financial risk and systems.

* Good knowledge of and working experience in IRRBB and market risk management

* Understand the bank’s group risk management practice.

* Awareness of industry trends and best practices.

* Understanding (and correct interpretation) of relevant regulatory regimes and requirements governing liquidity risk for UK institutions, together with a working knowledge of industry standard market risk requirements.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to deliver accurate and comprehensive risk reports and to propose meaningful and constructive solutions and suggestions.

Job status: 12 months fixed term contract

Start date: ASAP

Working hours: 9 to 5
