Job Description
Temporary Management Accountant, ongoing, blue chip head office, Luton, £200 per day+ holiday
Abacus Consulting are proud to be representing an established business, based on the outskirts of Luton town. This is an interim role for a skilled Qualified Management Accountant to join an enthusiastic and proactive finance team. There may be opportunities for this role to be extended or become temp to perm.
As Management Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
* Production of Monthly contract P&L’s, liaising with contract management teams to ensure their accuracy and understanding across the business
* Build strong relationships across the Divisional network so that you’re able to support all key decision making in the division.
* Act as the business partner to the Divisional MD, setting annual budgets that align to the Carlisle Group 5 year plan
* Co-ordinate the divisions quarterly forecasting that is both achievable and stretching
* Creation of Month End reports for the division (P&L, Balance Sheet and order book)
* Provide guidance and support to the Sales / Bid team, exploring new contract delivery solutions and reviewing the output and ensuring it complies with the Carlisle target prices
* To support the implementation of a new finance system (testing of the new system and supporting the data cleanse and cut-over activity)
* Delivery of contract profit improvement plans with the contract teams ensuring the Contract Managers understand the contract deliverables and pricing on all contracts
* Act as the liaison between the divisional contract managers and the billing and payroll teams to improve the accuracy and timeliness of information
* Assist with the year end audit through the provision of accurate and relevant data as required
* To ensure we are GDPR compliant at all times
* To adhere to agreed service level agreements within the Finance Team and the wider business
* To work on ad hoc projects and tasks when needed to meet the demands of the business, and to provide support to
Your skills should include:
* Ideally ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified with a minimum of 2 year’s post qualification experience
* Experience in business partnering and working with Non finance Mgmt teams
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Good technical accounting knowledge
* Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
* Experience building excellent working relationships with all levels of management and across organisational lines
* Excellent attention to detail
* Good problem solving skills with the ability to anticipate problems and resolve issues using own initiative
* Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise & meet agreed deadlines
* Ability to work collaboratively
