Job Description
Our client is a rapidly expanding independent alcoholic drinks business and they are now looking to recruit a bright and ambitious Management Accountant / Finance Manager. Currently this role will cover all aspects of the department and will suit someone with a desire to eventually manage a team of assistant accountants.
This role will offer you full scope to mould the department how you see fit aligned with the growth of the business.
The key responsibilities are:
● Performing financial analysis and commercial support to management and ongoing projects, providing models to aid in decision making ● Produce monthly management accounts, providing any variance analysis, including any extra internal reporting required, and quarterly submissions to the bank ● Forecasting monthly, quarterly and annual results. Working closely with department leads to collate budgets and ensure they are financially sound ● Ensure all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations ● Manage and forecast cash flows ● Reporting to external sources of finance ● Completing payroll in coordination with external payroll provider ● Routine day to day accounting tasks (e.g. payment runs, reconciliations, VAT returns, credit control, accounts payable) ● Ownership of full balance sheet ● Ensure safeguarding of the business through high quality controls ● Work with external accountants for year end submissions
Essential skills are:
● Previous experience with cash flow management essential ● Strong Excel skills ● CIMA or ACCA part or fully qualified Accountant ● Comfortable working alone and self-management of work ● Strong commercial mindset ● Excellent business partnering skills, working with sales and operations to help drive business growth
