Job Description
Elevation are delighted to be partnering with a fantastic healthcare charity, who have one of the best reputations in the market, within their field.

Based largely from home, this is a newly created position of Finance Director. This role is integral to the growth, change and management of the finance and IT functions within the Charity.

This is a rare opportunity for someone who has experience of managing a team and wants to develop both personally as a manager but also be part of the future strategy of the Charity.

A BACKGROUND IN THE HEALTHCARE OR CHARITY SECTORS IS NOT REQUIRED. The most important aspects are experience of team management, accounts preparation, commercial thinking and an interest in growing with a business.

This is a 12 month FTC to begin with, with strong potential to go permanent before the end for the right person.

A full, detailed job description is available but in brief the role comprises of:

-MANAGEMENT AND PLANNING

oManaging the finance team and oversee and support the IT team where necessary
oAs Heads of Department, support the COO in preparing business plans and strategy

-BUDGETING AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

oLead on the development, maintenance and monitoring of budgets and forecasts. Manage departmental budget for finance
oManage all aspects of the Finance function to ensure finance, payroll, VAT and gift aid systems and practices are accurate and compliant with legislative requirements
oLiaise regularly with Heads of Department regarding their monthly accounts, challenging and understanding existing or anticipated variances from budget and informing regular financial forecasting

-ACCOUNTS AND INFORMATION DELIVERY

oProduce accurate and timely monthly management accounts for the Hospice and its subsidiary / trading companies. Review and finalise the draft management accounts to understand, analyse and report on any variances from budget
oProvide regular re-forecasts of the annual income and expenditure to enable informed management decisions to be made
oProduce accurate and timely statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with SO RP, the Companies Act and best practice

Ideal candidate:
-Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA
-Able to work efficiently from home as the role is largely based remotely
-Have prior experience of team management
-A creative individual who brings new ideas to the table and challenges current processes and procedures to improve them
