Job Description
In-House VAT Manager – Lancashire – Competitive salary + bonus and benefits

Based in Lancashire our client is a large international business who are seeking to appoint a VAT Manager to join a talented and growing tax team.

The Job:

The role will provide support the VAT director, be responsible for preparing and submitting the VAT returns and ECSL’s, improving processes and the accuracy of the data, along with providing ad-hoc support to the VAT director on other non-compliance indirect tax matters.

Main Responsibilities:

Prepare and submit VAT returns, EC lists and intrastat returns

Carry out pre-submission audit checks and file periodic returns within deadlines

Ensure timely and accurate payments of VAT liabilities

Liaise with tax authorities where necessary

Assist with VAT audits

Reconcile VAT and statistical returns to each other and the balance sheet

Work with the finance team to improve processes and the accuracy of data

The Person :

It is essential you have proven practical experience of working in a VAT related role, ideally in a large organisation or this could represent your first time move from one of the professional firms. It would be beneficial to be working towards a professional qualification but there is more emphasis on the cultural fit and VAT experience.

It is essential you possess strong communication skills and have the ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure deadlines are met. Experience of SAP is desirable
