Job Title: Head of Mortgage Operations

Location: Essex. Working from home 2-3 days per week

Salary: Up to £95,000 plus £5,000 car allowance

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

We are excited to be working with our client who is a well-established financial services business, who provide mortgage and savings products. They have a great opportunity for a Senior Mortgage Professional to join the business as their new Head of Mortgage Operations. Reporting directly to the CCO, the Head of Mortgage Operations will be responsible for managing the Member Services department and to deliver high colleague engagement and productivity that results in service that stands for Members and Brokers in line with compliance, regulatory and legislative requirements. The successful candidate will also work on improving efficiencies within the business to enhance the customer journey.

The Head of Mortgage Operations will have process ownership across Training and Competence, Quality Assurance Payments Operations, Mortgage Processing and Servicing, Retention of Mortgage Business and Contract Variations including Advice, Arrears and Collections, Customer Complaints, Customer Journey & Experience, Vulnerable Customers and end to end colleague resourcing, training, development and productivity.

Responsibilities for the role of Head of Mortgage Operations

Responsible for the delivery of KPI's within agreed SLA's
Deliver on long term strategies and transformation projects, working closely with key stakeholders, including Customer Directorate SME to ensure processes and procedures and future working practices are reviewed and ensuring customer outcomes are central to any process delivery
Comply with defined processes to ensure regulatory compliance standards are met
Ensure department transactions are accurate and that processes are efficient and carried out in accordance with Policy and Procedures
Deliver and manage the provision of an end-to-end mortgage administration service to all mortgage customers and ensure that the business interest is protected
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders that are instrumental to achieving successful customer outcome
Drive through successful change in Member Services department to support long term strategies in line with the corporate strategy
Accountable for the Arrears and Collections management through reporting and process to ensure decisions are compliant and are focused on customer outcomes, while protecting the interests of the business
Provide ongoing Training and oversight to ensure competency standards are maintained
Oversight of automation for system back-up and readiness
Control of the department budget, including forecasting and supporting with cost initiatives
Authorised person for funds release (level 2)
Authorised person for release of security electronically and joint signatory on other releases executed by Deed
Key contact for HM Land Registry
Committee preparation, report writing and attendance
Delivering high performance through direct reports in line with the Manager Commitments.
Recruitment, motivation, coaching and development of direct reports to achieve high performance standards
Managing, through direct reports, workloads within the team, planning resource requirements to ensure that customer service standards are delivered in line with the behaviours expected
Ensuring that performance and attendance is managed in line with policy guidelinesExperience required for the role of Head of Mortgage Operations

Must have a broad depth of knowledge across the mortgage sector and how the process works
Must have gained experience in working in the mortgage sector, ideally with a Bank or Building Society.
Proven experience in creating and rewriting policies and procedures.
