Allstaff Recruitment are currently seeking a Financial System Developer based in Bedford for a well-established company.  

Summary of the Financial System Developer role…

Salary: £20 – £25 per hour
Location: Bedford
Type of Contract: Permanent, Full-time.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm.

The role…

This is a niche role, sitting between the IT software and accounts team. To maintain the financial software systems and provide support and development of finance-based projects.

As the Financial System Developer your role will involve the following important duties:

Review and improve the data interface between the Fees System and Accounting system.
Develop further our management reporting e.g. a consolidated budget for all schools.
Develop KPI reporting using the Accounting System data.
Provide technical and operational support to the finance team, assisting the with the financial management system, HR and payroll system, fees billing system and payment facilities.
Integrate the clients various finance software packages and implement agreed finance software system changes.
Contribute to the development of timely, accurate and consistent management reporting across the trust.
In conjunction with the IT Manager, liaise with third party suppliers over the implementation of routine software upgrades to ensure that they are implemented appropriately.
Work closely with the internal IT team to resolve technical finance software system issues.
Facilitate negotiations of third party agreements with financial software service providers.
Attend meetings, networking and communicating events to actively seek out opportunities that will add value to the business.
Develop, promote and provide training in financial procedures processes/systems and software for understanding, consistency of approach and compliance to mitigate risk.
Act as the principal point of contact.
Ensure that the financial solutions provide adequate control mechanisms to safeguard the financial assets.
 The experience required…

As a successful Financial System Developer, you will have the following:

Experience of working within a finance system role.
Experience of documenting and communicating financial procedures and controls.
Good understanding of accounting principles and control environments within which financial systems operate.
Strong written and spoken English.
Ability to work on own initiative, proactive and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
Good attention to detail.
Experience of working within Open Accounts, iTrent or iFinance.
Experience of working within a school environment.
Excellent capability in Microsoft Office Packages.
Understanding of financial reporting requirements.
