Basic salary: £35,000

Who we are:

In January 2020, Cure Leukaemia began a 3-year, £3,000,000 commitment to funding the national Trials Acceleration Programme (TAP). This integrated and collaborative network consists of 12 specialist research nurses in 12 of the UK's biggest cities and a facilitatory Hub based at the Centre for Clinical Haematology in Birmingham.

Opportunity:

We are recruiting for a Financial Controller to join our team on a full time, permanent basis. The role is based in Solihull. The main function of this role is to ensure the smooth running of the accounts department making sure the monthly management accounts are produced accurately and on time.

Attributes required:

Be a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) or QBE would also be considered
Previous experience of being responsible for monthly management accounts submission
Able to communicate clearly with people at all levels, both financial and non-financial
Have previous experience of budget creation and setting

Responsibilities:

Produce accurate and timely monthly Management Accounts
Be accountable for cash flow and forecasts
Produce annual Budget and maintain rolling 3-year financial plan
Attend meetings of Trustees
Oversee year end audit process and production of Statutory Accounts, in conjunction with the Charity's auditors
Bank and investments monthly reconciliations
Liaise with payroll bureau on any changes to salaries, starters / leavers etc
Continuously monitor and improve the financial and reporting systems to ensure they meet the developing needs of the charity
Oversee supplier payments, payments of grant funding etc
Ensure timely chasing of debtors and outstanding monies from fundraisers and events
Monitor claims against grants awarded by the charity
Assist with applications to foundations and other charitable bodies for funding

Additional Benefits

Full time (40 hours per week; 9am-5pm)
Hybrid working is available with the expectation that 3-4 days per week are office based
