Job Description
Financial Accountant | Wolverhampton | £40-£45K + benefits
An opportunity for a qualified or nearly qualified accountant to get experience managing a small team, working closely with operational management. The job would suit a capable, technically strong accountant that wants to develop commercial and operational acumen. The role will work closely with an experienced General Manager who is keen to mentor and aid the Financial Accountant’s development.

A successful and established UK subsidiary of an international group. The UK business has a turnover of c£15m and is growing year on year.
The Role
The Financial Accountant will manage an Accounts Assistant and the day to day running of the finance function. The job reports into the UK General Manager and the European Finance Manager . Duties will include:
* Responsibility for the UK P&L and Balance Sheet
* Managing and develop the VAT reporting
* Work with external auditors on all routine information requests
* Month end close and reporting
* Maintain a reconciled and accurate balance sheet
* Develop the accounting systems and controls to enable accurate and timely operations and reporting
* Maintain the Fixed Asset register
* Intercompany and gross margin reconciliations
* Intrastat data and EC sales
* Prepare the yearly tax pack
* Oversee annual audit
Personal Profile
* Ambitious and driven accountant, ideally qualified or nearly qualified from industry or practice
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to communicate with senior stakeholders
* Strong Excel skills
