Job Description
Permanent – 37 hours per week

Salary at Level 1 £21,695-£23,023 (pay award pending)

Salary at Level 2 £23,953-£26,446 (pay award pending)

About us

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to join South Yorkshire Pensions Authority’s friendly and forward-thinking Finance and Corporate Services team. We are a growing public sector organisation with a team of around 100 staff who run the workplace pension scheme, managing a Fund of over £10 billion on behalf of employing organisations, including Local Authorities and other public / not-for-profit sector bodies.

About the role

Reporting to the Finance Team Leader, you will deliver high quality, professional and efficient finance and accountancy support for the organisation, assisting in the financial reporting and providing business support to the wider team. Working in line with fraud prevention procedures, your duties will include, but are not limited to, accounting and analysis of investment valuations and transactions, treasury management activities and analysis of contributions income due from employers. You will help monitor and manage the team’s shared email inboxes, responding to queries from internal and external customers promptly and accurately.

About you

There are two levels to the role allowing for career progression, so we would like the successful candidate to be self-motivated and driven; to aid your career progression we will be willing to offer study support for AAT as you progress through the two levels. You will be educated to Level 2 or 3 qualification standard, with previous experience working in a busy office environment, within a financial team. You will have a natural flair for numeracy, have strong attention to detail and will be comfortable communicating both verbally and in writing. Although not essential, experience in a public sector finance environment would be beneficial, too.
